Valair NV4500 spring hub dual disc clutch, ceramic surfacing rated to 650 hp, with the standard floater plate.
A dual disc clutch is how you hold real torque without giving up drivability — two friction surfaces sharing the load instead of one being asked to do everything.
Valair offer two friction surfaces. Organic/organic is rated to 550 hp — the smoothest engagement, and the right choice for a stock or mildly modified truck pulling heavy weight. Ceramic/ceramic is rated to 650 hp, for a modified truck that needs the holding power and the quicker shift a diaphragm clutch gives.
This one is the ceramic version, rated to 650 hp.
The other choice is the floater plate. The standard plate is the design used across the industry, and some trucks develop floater plate rattle with it; Valair's quiet version adds a spring strap specifically to deal with that.
This kit requires a 1.375 in input shaft (Valair part VA1.375). The factory 1.25 in shaft will not work, so if you do not already have one it has to be fitted at the same time. Valair keep the shaft optional because many owners already have one.
