S&B cold air intake with dry synthetic media for the 2019–2026 Dodge Ram 1500 / 2500 / 3500 5.7L Hemi (New Body Style).

The factory airbox is a compromise between airflow, noise and cost, and the filter inside it is sized to the same compromise. An intake designed around airflow gives the engine an easier breath — which shows up as throttle response before it shows up on a dyno.

What separates a designed intake from an open filter on a pipe is the housing. A sealed box keeps the filter drawing cool air from outside the engine bay rather than the hot air sitting around it, and it keeps the filter out of the weather and the debris.

Filtration is the half of the equation that gets ignored. More airflow is easy if you do not care what comes through with it; the engineering is in improving airflow while still catching what would otherwise go into the engine.

This is the Dry Extendable version. The media is dry synthetic, so servicing is cleaning without any oiling step — which removes the one thing people get wrong with an oiled filter, over-oiling it.
