Mishimoto intercooler, piping and boot kit for the 2003–2007 Ford 6.0L Power Stroke.

A turbodiesel makes charge air hot before it makes power. The intercooler is what takes that heat back out, and what it gives back is denser air into the cylinder, lower exhaust gas temperature and a truck that does not lose its composure halfway up a grade with a trailer behind it.

Mishimoto builds these on a bar-and-plate core with cast aluminium end tanks TIG-welded to it. Cast tanks matter: the factory parts that fail on these trucks usually fail at a stamped or crimped tank joint, not in the core.

This is the full kit rather than the cooler alone. The piping is mandrel-bent aluminium polished to a mirror finish, routed to take the restrictive bends out of the factory path, and it ships with Mishimoto DuraCore silicone boots and constant-tension T-bolt clamps.

DuraCore is Mishimoto's own boot material: the inner liner is built to resist heat and oil, which is what kills ordinary silicone on a diesel charge pipe.
