A turbodiesel makes charge air hot before it makes power. The intercooler is what takes that heat back out, and what it gives back is denser air into the cylinder, lower exhaust gas temperature and a truck that does not lose its composure halfway up a grade with a trailer behind it.

Mishimoto builds these on a bar-and-plate core with cast aluminium end tanks TIG-welded to it. Cast tanks matter: the factory parts that fail on these trucks usually fail at a stamped or crimped tank joint, not in the core.

It is a direct fit in place of the factory cooler, so the mounting points and the charge pipe connections are where the truck expects them.
