The early 7.3L Power Stroke trucks were not intercooled, which puts the whole job of managing heat on the cooling system.

Mishimoto's answer is a bar-and-plate aluminium radiator built to shed more heat than the unit that came out. On an engine with the 7.3's reputation for longevity, the cooling system is worth bringing up to the same standard.

Radiators are a wear item, not a lifetime part. They silt up internally, they collect road debris and grime on the fins, and on the plastic-tank designs the tank eventually cracks where years of clamp pressure and heat cycling have worked on it.
