Dodge spent years putting ordinary transmissions behind an extraordinary engine, and the reputation stuck. The 68RFE that arrived with the 2007.5 6.7L was a genuine improvement — a six-speed automatic with real capacity behind it — but a Cummins will still find the limits of a standard build.
