Driven Diesel complete fan hub assembly for converting a common-rail Cummins to a mechanical fan clutch.
The electronically controlled fan clutch on a common-rail Cummins has a poor reputation. When it stops doing its job the first sign is coolant temperature climbing on a hot day with a load on, which is exactly when you need it working.
Converting to a mechanical clutch is not difficult, but it does need the right parts: this adapter, and a fan clutch from an OBS Ford — a 1994–1997 model year — which is the clutch the conversion is designed around.
This assembly includes the required adapter along with the rest of the hub, so it is the complete answer rather than one piece of it.
One thing to check before ordering: to reuse your existing engine fan blade you need the 6-bolt blade assembly, which is typically only on 2003–2008 trucks. A 4-bolt blade assembly means buying the fan blade too.
