The 1994–1997 7.3L Power Stroke left the factory without an intercooler at all, which is why a Techni-Cooler system on one of these trucks is an addition rather than a replacement — and why the difference it makes is larger than on a truck that already had one.

Cooler charge air is denser charge air: more oxygen per cylinder filling, lower exhaust gas temperature and a truck that holds up better under sustained load.

Banks sells the Techni-Cooler as a system rather than a bare core: the intercooler, the charge piping, the boots and the clamps, so nothing in the charge air path is left as the weak link.
