PPE upgraded charge-air coolant heat exchanger for the 2020–2025 GM 3.0L Duramax LM2 and LZ0.

On an air-to-water charge cooling system the heat exchanger out front is what finally dumps the heat to atmosphere. If it saturates — towing, or a hot day, or both — the charge cooler behind it has nowhere to send heat and intake temperature climbs regardless of how good the intercooler is.

PPE's replacement carries a 20% larger core with more rows of fins and holds an additional quart of coolant, so there is more thermal mass to absorb a load spike as well as more area to shed it.

The core is fully brazed at 18.5 fins per inch with all-aluminium end tanks, and the two-row coolant tube layout is optimised to cut pressure drop by 15% against stock. It is a direct-fit replacement.
