PPE all-aluminium air-to-water intercooler kit for the 2020–2025 GM 3.0L Duramax LM2 and LZ0.

A turbodiesel makes charge air hot before it makes power. The intercooler is what takes that heat back out, and what it gives back is denser air into the cylinder, lower exhaust gas temperature and a truck that does not lose its composure halfway up a grade with a trailer behind it.

PPE's kit for the 3.0L Duramax uses all-aluminium bar-and-plate construction with a considered fin layout, and the core is 2.4 times the size of the factory unit.

Cooler, denser charge air lowers exhaust gas temperature and helps fuel economy. On a light-duty diesel that spends time towing, that headroom is the whole point.
